Greece’s public sector union calls for stoppage on Friday
Civil servants in Attica will not start work before noon on Friday because of a stoppage called by their union, ADEDY.
The stoppage has been called so civil servants can gather outside the Council of State, where judges will hear ADEDY’s appeal against the public sector evaluation scheme.
A protest rally is due to take place in Syntagma Square at 7 p.m.
The private sector umbrella union GSEE also announced on Thursday that it will hold a 24-hour strike and protest rally to coincide with Parliament voting on the 2015 budget in December.
