Air force seeks F-16 upgrades
Greece is looking to make improvements to its fleet of F-16s after already setting in motion an upgrade for its Mirage fighter jets, Kathimerini has learned.
Defense Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos has asked for a plan to be put in place for the improvements to the F-16s. It is not yet known how much such a scheme would cost.
On Wednesday, Avramopoulos signed a deal for the upgrade of 10 Mirage 2000 air force jets. The agreement allows the Hellenic Air Force to get its supplies directly from the French manufacturer, Dassault. The minister is also expected to launch a tender soon for the technical support of these airplanes.
