Parliament lifts immunity for Independent Greeks MP
Greek Parliament voted in favor of lifting the parliamentary immunity of Independent Greeks deputy Vassilis Kapernaros on Wednesday. The deputy was facing an investigation by the Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE).
A similar motion against New Democracy deputy Argyris Dinopoulos, accused of slander by Independent Greeks MP Notis Marias, was rejected, as was a motion to lift immunity for Merchant Marine Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiosis, regarding his acquisition of Glyfada municipality land during his tenure as municipal counselor.
