Emporiki Bank workers call strike
Workers at Emporiki Bank said on Tuesday that they will be holding a 24-hour strike on Wednesday to protest plans for the acquisition of the ailing state lender by Alpha Bank.
Emporiki is a subsidiary of France’s third largest bank, Credit Agrigole, which confirmed on Monday that talks regarding the merger will start with an aim for completion by the end of the year.
