Census sit-in protest

People who worked to gather data during the population census earlier this year began a sit-in protest at the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) offices in Thessaloniki on Tuesday.

The protesters claim they should have been paid for their work six months ago but have not yet received any money.

Some 7,500 statisticians were employed to carry out the census.
