Violent mugging arrest

Police on Tuesday detained a 14-year-old Albanian over the mugging of two Greek minors who were stabbed before being robbed of their cell phones in Peristeri, western Athens, on Monday night.

The injuries were not serious, according to police, who are seeking a second youth.

A search is also under way for two youths linked to an armed attack on a minor in Nea Smyrni.

Separately, in the central port of Volos, police were investigating a violent attack on the ex-wife of a local conservative MP. The woman was hit on the head, stabbed in the stomach and robbed.
