Seamen call off strike
Greece?s Panhellenic Seamen?s Union (PNO) has called off a strike that has hampered travel to the islands and left some of them without basic supplies.
The seamen, which launched their strike on October 17, are protesting changes to their collective contracts.
Meanwhile, public transport employees have decided to walk off the job on Tuesday to protest wage cuts and a move by the government to place some public sector workers in a standby labor pool.
The walkout will halt services on the metro, buses and trolley buses.
Unions representing workers at other forms of public transport, including the Kifissia-Piraeus electric railway (ISAP) and the Athens tram, were expected to announce a decision on strike action later in the day.
