Fraudster ‘florists’ appear before prosecutor

Two Greek men, aged 22 and 30, faced an Athens prosecutor on Saturday after allegedly robbing several elderly residents of the central neighborhood of Ambelokipi by wooing them with flowers.

According to police, the pair drove around in a white van, offering free flowers and plants to residents, ostensibly as a promotion for a new florist.

The suspects gained access to their victims? homes by offering to pot plants for them, according to police who said that one of the pair would deal with the flowers while the other pocketed cash and jewelry.
