Priest, 92, found dead after allegedly killing villager, 70

Police in Arcadia, in the Peloponnese, were on Sunday investigating the cause of death of a 92-year-old priest whose body was found a short distance from a 70-year-old fellow villager he is alleged to have shot dead following a land dispute.

According to locals, the priest shot the 70-year-old man on Saturday following an argument over land ownership in their village of Kapelitsa.

A police search for the priest on Saturday was fruitless but officers found his body on Sunday, a short distance from the scene of the shooting.

A coroner was to confirm the cause of his death but it appears he died of natural causes.
