Suspected drug smugglers intercepted

Police in Thesprotia, northern Greece, on Friday detained three men, aged 40, 54 and 58, who are believed to have been smuggling large quantities of cannabis into the country, packaging it in a local dairy factory and shipping it to Sweden labeled as dairy produce.

Officers said they seized 217 kilograms of cannabis after stopping the men close to the Albanian border on Thursday and searching their vehicles.

The 58-year-old suspect owns the dairy factory believed to have been used as a cover for the drug smuggling.
