Crackdown on illegal street vendors

Citizens? Protection Minister Christos Papoutsis told Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis on Friday that the government would boost patrols of the city center in a bid to crack down on the burgeoning trade of counterfeit goods, chiefly by undocumented immigrants.

Papoutsis added that the widespread problem of drug use and trade is expected to be curbed with the relocation of facilities of the Organization Against Drugs (OKANA) out of the city center.
