Russian President to visit Athens
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is expected to visit Athens Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos announced in Parliament on Friday.
Venizelos said that while the two countries enjoy strong ties, Russia is one of the countries — along with China, India and Brazil — whose support Greece needs at the International Monetary Fund.
The Finance Minister noted that in order for the IMF to participate in the Greek rescue program, the organization requires the vote of 24 representatives from different regions around the world.
Meanwhile, Venizelos did not divulge anymore details regarding the Russian President?s upcoming visit.
