Ex-minister Kouselas called to testify over tax cheat list

Former Deputy Finance Minister Dimitris Kouselas was called before a prosecutor on Tuesday in connection to allegations that he compiled a list of almost 4,000 major tax cheats, which the government did not act upon.

Prosecutor Grigoris Peponis launched a probe after media reports that Kouselas referred to the list during a meeting of PASOK MPs.

Kouselas reportedly claimed that his list contains some 3,800 tax dodgers who owe more than 1 million euros each to the state.

He has since denied that this is what he said.
