Only OSE, Proastiakos trains during transport strike

There will be no public transport in Athens on Monday as employees walk off the job to protest wage cuts and a move by the government to place some public sector workers in a standby labor pool.

The walkout will halt services on the metro, the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP), buses, trolley buses and the tram. Intercity (OSE) train and Proastiakos suburban railway services will be running as normal.

Protesting workers are due to gather in Kotzia Square, central Athens, for a rally at noon.
