Truck catches fire on highway, driver hospitalized
A truck fire on the Ionia Odos highway in western Greece on Wednesday sent the driver to hospital with respiratory issues but did not cause any major disruptions to the flow of traffic.
The truck was transporting tobacco products towards the city of Ioannina when the engine caught fire near the Ammotopos junction, according to state broadcaster ERT.
Four fire engines responded to the incident, while an ambulance took the driver to hospital.
