Man arrested at Athens airport with cocaine hidden in orthopaedic belt

A 25-year-old man was arrested Sunday at Athens International Airport on drug charges. Authorities say the man arrived in Greece from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

During a search, police discovered 1.2 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a specially modified compartment of an orthopaedic back belt.

The suspect has been taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor’s office.
