Man injured in Athens drive-by shooting
A 22-year-old man was shot in a drive-by attack in the western Athens suburb of Peristeri in the early hours of Tuesday, in what police are treating as a gang-related assault.
He is currently in hospital receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim has been identified as an Albanian national with a history of drug-related offenses. He had been released from prison a day before he was attacked while riding as a passenger in a car at around 2.20 a.m. on Peristeri’s Dodekanisou Street.
The shots were fired from another car, which sped off, as did the driver of the vehicle the victim was riding in.
Police believe they have identified one of the people in the car the shots came from.
