Inmate killed in fight in capital’s Korydallos Prison
An inmate was reportedly killed and another injured in a violent brawl involving knives or some other similar weapon in the Greek capital’s Korydallos Prison on Wednesday.
According to initial reports, the inmate who was killed has been identified as a 35-year-old Albanian national. The injured man is said to be from Kosovo and was rushed to hospital with a stab wound on the back.
According to initial reports, the brawl broke out in Block D, a section of the prison used to house mostly Albanians convicted of serious crimes, including murder.
Several inmates are said to have been involved.
The incident has put the prison authorities on edge, as there are fears that it may spark more clashes in the facility between rival groups.
