Acropolis Hill may close during hottest hours due to heat wave

The Culture Ministry announced Monday that the archaeological site on the Acropolis Hill, Greece’s most famous tourist attraction, will likely be closed from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the coming days due to the expected heat wave.

The heat is expected to push temperatures in Athens and other parts of the country above 40 degrees Celsius until the end of the week.

The ministry is expected to release an official announcement soon.
