Minors detained in failed break-in resulting in fatal shooting

Two minors were temporarily detained on Thursday for attempting to break into a livestock unit in the northern municipality of Kilkis, alongside two adults, aged 38 and 45.

The incident occurred Monday when the property owner, present at the time, fired at the four intruders, fatally wounding the 45-year-old.

The two minors, aged 15 and 16, appeared at the Kilkis Judicial Mansion on Thursday to testify. The 38-year-old, who is also the father of one of the minors, along with the 54-year-old property owner who was arrested for homicide, are set to testify on Friday.

According to reports from public broadcaster ERT, the 15-year-old minor claimed that the group planned the robbery under the pretext that the 54-year-old had sexually harassed a family member.

Authorities confiscated a shotgun, a cartridge, and a shotgun shell.
