Fire breaks out in southeastern Peloponnese

A fire erupted Thursday in Aghios Stefanos, within the Monemvasia municipality in Lakonia.
The blaze is consuming agricultural and woodland areas.
Eleven fire engines with 40 crew members, two teams of firefighters on foot, and a water-dropping helicopter were dispatched to extinguish the flames.
The Fire Brigade reported no immediate threat to inhabited areas.
