Bomb blast damages gas station in Piraeus
Authorities in Greece say a powerful bomb explosion damaged a gas station in Piraeus, south of Athens, in the early hours of Friday morning.
There have been no reported injuries. Nearby buildings and vehicles also sustained damage from the blast, which occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on Omiridou Skylitsi Street.
Police have cordoned off the area, halting traffic as a precautionary measure.
The Greek Police’s bomb disposal experts, TEEM, are currently on-site conducting investigations and gathering evidence.
Friday’s explosion follows a shooting occurrence in the same neighborhood around a month ago, although it remains unclear if there is any connection to Friday’s events.
