Minor fire in courtyard of PM’s residence
An investigation has been launched into a fire that broke out in a ground-floor storage space in the courtyard of the Maximos Mansion, the prime minister’s official residence, on Saturday morning.
The fire, which broke out at 6.20 a.m., was quickly contained and caused only minor damage to the structure.
A contingent of 24 firefighters and seven tenders attended the scene.
The surrounding streets were closed until the area was deemed safe and reopened at 8 a.m.
