Engineers invited to help with pre-earthquake inspections
Engineers will in the coming days be able to register on the online platform of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), allowing them to conduct pre-earthquake inspections of public buildings.
Giorgos Stasinos, the president of TEE, made this announcement during a conference on Wednesday, while also advocating for the extension of pre-earthquake inspections to include private buildings.
“Naturally, in cases of substantial findings, thorough inspections and restoration work should ensue, supported by incentives and resources,” Stasinos said.
“Prevention not only safeguards lives and assets but, in the long term, also saves money,” he added.
