Fugitive with 37 convictions arrested in Thessaloniki

A 40-year-old fugitive from justice with 37 convictions pending and a total prison sentence of 38 years, 6 months and a fine, was arrested in Thessaloniki on Wednesday, police said.

In particular, the decisions relate to offenses of a financial nature and specifically to the offenses of serial fraud, the issuance of bad checks, non-payment of insurance contributions and contributions in favor of the State and the serial delinquency of the purchaser of agricultural products.

The man had been convicted of serial fraud, issuing bad checks, non-payment of insurance contributions and contributions to the State and not paying for acquired agricultural products.

These offences were carried out in Thessaloniki between 2016 and 2022, when the suspect was the manager of a company included in the tax authorities’ updated list of big debtors to the state, with a debt that exceeds 540,000 euros.

The suspect was led before a prosecutor in Thessaloniki.
