Dendias seeking cooperation with UK
Defence Minister Nikos Dendias held talks in London on Monday with his British counterpart Grant Shapps regarding cooperation between Greece and the UK in the field of defense innovation.
Dendias said Greece wants to link with the UK innovation ecosystem “in order to strengthen the Greek defense industry and to cooperate with the similar system in the UK.”
“The UK is a known reliable security provider and we can learn a lot, especially from the mechanism for absorbing lessons learned in Ukraine,” Dendias said.
In September last year, Dendias, who was foreign minister at the time, had reached a similar agreement with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant, for joint projects in the field of research and development (R&D) by Israel’s International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) and Greece’s Dimokritos National Center for Scientific Research (EKEFE).
