EODY reports 35 Covid-related deaths in weekly bulletin
The number of deaths related to the SARS-CoV-2 virus eased in the past week but more Covid patients were on ventilators, according to the weekly bulletin issued by the National Organization for Public Health on Thursday.
Covering the period of September 18-24, EODY reported 35 deaths, a small improvement from the 39 fatalities reported the week before that.
However, the number of patients who were on a ventilator was up, reaching 33 from last period’s 25, while hospital admissions for Covid also rose both on a weekly and monthly basis to come to 869.
Lab tests, meanwhile, have shown that all the recent cases studied involved the highly transmissible BA.2 subvariant of the virus’ Omicron strain.
