Volos hospital floods, streams overflow

The huge amounts of water that fell on Volos during Storm Elias flooded the local hospital and caused two streams to overflow on Thursday, making this the second time the city is called upon to deal with the aftermath of torrential rain in just 20 days.
Krafsidonas and another stream to the east of Volos, Anavros, overflowed, bringing debris, tree branches and mud in the surrounding areas.
The Achillopoulio Hospital of Volos suffered significant flood damage, with water entering the basements and other areas of the hospital but not those housing patients, while efforts were being made to pump the water out of the building.
