Egyptian health minister signs MoU with Athens Medical Group

A delegation of Egypt’s Health Ministry, led by Minister Prof Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, visited the facilities of the Athens Medical Group on Wednesday. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU).

According to the announcement, the signing of the memorandum marks the beginning of a new partnership between private and public bodies and a transitional step forward in the countries’ cooperation in the health sector.

This strategic cooperation stems from their shared vision of continuous development and improvement in the health sector, by advancing medical services and thus improving the quality of life of their people.

The MoU highlights the strategic areas of cooperation between the two parties, emphasizing the development of reference centers (centers of excellence) in health, and the exchange of knowledge towards a common pursuit in the field of research and innovation in health.

After the signing of the MoU, Minister Prof Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stated:

“As we embark on this journey, we are committed to achieving a sustained improvement in healthcare delivery in Egypt, ultimately improving the health and quality of life for all our citizens. Together, we look forward to a future where excellence in healthcare knows no borders.”

On his part, the CEO of the Athens Medical Group, Dr Vassilis Apostolopoulos, said:

“As the leading Greek health group, we are ready to invest and proceed with the transfer of know-how in order to contribute to the promotion of the health of our friends, the people of Egypt.

Through the sensitive health sector, we also wish to contribute to the geostrategic cooperation and friendship of the two countries, which today is stronger than ever.”
