Men detained in northern Greece in connection to soccer violence sentenced

Seven Romanian nationals arrested, amid fears of further violence between soccer fans, near the border with Bulgaria on Thursday who were carrying knives and protective gear, were sentenced on Friday.
They were each handed a one-year prison term with three years’ probation and a one-thousand euro fine. The seven men have appealed their sentence.
