Danish tourists arrested in Zakynthos for endangering minor
Two Danish tourists have been arrested by the police on the island of Zakynthos for endangering a minor. According to the public broadcaster ERT, a 34-year-old mother and her 31-year-old partner left their one-year-old baby locked inside a rented car while they went shopping on the pedestrian street of Tsilivi, a popular tourist resort.
Alerted by concerned local residents who noticed the infant inside the vehicle, the police swiftly responded and freed the child from the car. As a precautionary measure, the baby was taken to Zakynthos Hospital, where it was confirmed to be in good health.
The mother of the infant and her partner were apprehended and are expected to face the prosecutor for further legal proceedings.
