Father of car death baby to appear before magistrate
The 37-year-old father of the 5-month-old infant that died after he forgot he had left it in his car in Arta, northwestern Greece this week will appear before an investigative magistrate on Friday.
He is being criminally prosecuted for the fatal exposure of a minor.
He and his wife are being treated at Arta Hospital, with the 37-year-old under guard in the psychiatric clinic.
He is reportedly in a very poor psychological state and is being treated with strong sedatives. Meanwhile, at the urging of psychologists, the couple met for the first time since the tragic incident on Thursday and reportedly fell into a tight embrace.
The funeral of the infant will take place on Saturday at noon.
The autopsy showed a pulmonary edema, which is a concentration of fluid in the lungs which leads to suffocation and an agonizing death.
