Taxi drivers hold 24-hour strike on Thursday
Greece’s taxi drivers will walk off the job on Thursday to protest what they perceive as the Transport Ministry’s inaction over long-lasting problems, their union said on Wednesday.
Taxi drivers are complaining about private services and taxi apps which they said “eat away at the taxi driver’s daily wages” and accuse the government of indifference, which is contributing to their “slow death”.
The strike will start at 6 a.m. on Thursday and end at 6 a.m. on Friday. In addition, taxi drivers will gather at downtown Kavalas Avenue at 11 a.m. and march towards the ministry.
