Police make three arrests in new child pimping case
Police investigating a new case of child sexual abuse in which a 14-year-old girl was allegedly pimped out to men have made three arrests.
Social workers became concerned after noticing that the girl, who was living in a home for minors, occasionally left the facility for hours at a time.
One social worker was informed by a friend of the girl that she had met a man and was “going out” with him.
The 14-year-old left the premises at noon on Sunday, March 19, and returned on Monday morning.
State-run news agency AMNA reported that the girl’s 16-year-old sister at some point took the girl’s mobile phone and found that she had been chatting and exchanging messages with men.
After a social worker brought the case of the attention of the police, officers arrested three people who allegedly had met the 14-year-old in a hotel in the central Athens district of Metaxourgeio.
The arrested suspects are aged 24, 25 and 29.
