Eighty-seven migrants rescued from boat off Paxos islands
A total of 87 migrants were rescued on Friday from a sailboat that was drifting southwest of the islands of Paxos, in western Greece, by two ships that were sailing nearby.
The sailboat had issued a distress signal earlier in the day, a Coast Guard spokesperson said.
According to port authorities, the migrants will be transported to the port of Igoumenitsa.
