Fire Service rescue unconscious man from elevator shaft

Members of the Hellenic Fire Service rescued an unconscious man from an elevator shaft in Pangrati, central Athens, on Thursday. The man, aged 58-60, is reported to have fallen in the shaft while conducting maintenance work.

Nine firefighters and three vehicles were involved with the rescue. An ambulance has taken the man to hospital. The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated.
