Platform for subsidies for new fridges, air conditioners opens
The platform for households subsidies to help them replace their old fridges and air conditioners was launched on Tuesday afternoon for the first group of tax numbers.
The “Change Appliance” website went live at allazosyskevi.gov.gr.
Members of the public interested in replacing up to three appliances – air conditioners, fridges or freezers – with more energy-efficient ones may apply online on specific dates related to the last digit of their tax number (AFM).
The holders of tax numbers ending in 1 or 2 could apply from Tuesday. Applications for numbers ending in 3 or 4 open on Wednesday, in 5 or 6 on Thursday, in 7 or 8 on Friday and 9 and 0 on Saturday.
The deadline for applications is July 5.
The simple application proceedure takes a few minutes to complete.
Households will be able to get a subsidy of between 30% and 50% of the cost for each appliance (or 135 to 710 euros per machine), based on declared income criteria and additional bonus points for more vulnerable households.
The program does not cover interest rates if buyers pay in installments, or transportation and instalment costs.
