Mutilated body washed up in northern Greece belonged to Pakistani man
A mutilated corpse that was found last Sunday in the sea off the coast of Thessaloniki, northern Greece, belongs to a 24-year-old Pakistani national, the Coast Guard announced Tuesday.
The body, which was missing the head and lower limbs, was discovered by a fisherman near the area of Halastra who alerted port authorities. The Coast Guard said in a statement on Monday that it bore extensive bruises on the back and hands but there no traces of pre-mortem injuries. It also had a tattoo on the inside of the left arm, depicting an arrow.
The identification was achieved through the fingerprints and a police investigation.
