Covid-19: Fourth vaccine dose likely in September, minister says
A second booster shot against Covid-19 will “most likely” be made available to the general population after the summer, Health Minister Thanos Plevris told Skai TV on Monday.
Whether on not a fourth vaccine dose will be mandatory will depend on the evolution of the pandemic, he said.
“We would also like the coronavirus to have a seasonal vaccine, such as the flu, that is given once a year… But the most probable scenario for this year is to go for a booster shot,” he stated.
He said there will definitely be a vaccination for vulnerable members of the population and believes that will also be the case for the general population.
Health authorities announced 2,575 new Covid-19 cases and 16 deaths on Sunday.
