Police in Italy seize 654 kilos of cocaine bound for Thessaloniki

Italian authorities in the region of Calabria on Sunday seized 654 kilos of cocaine onboard a ship bound for the northern port city of Thessaloniki. The cocaine had been stashed in containers filled with bananas and is worth an estimated 50 million euros according to state broadcaster ERT.

In coordination with their Italian counterparts, the Hellenic Police have launched an investigation in identifying the shipment’s recipients.
