Man accused of raping niece remanded in custody

An investigating magistrate has ordered the pre-trial detention of a 53-year-old man from Kalamata, southern Greece, accused of raping his underage niece.
The case was opened when the 14-year-old confessed to a teacher that she had been raped by the suspect in 2014, when she was only six years old.
In his testimony on Friday, the man denied the accusations.
