Elderly woman in Patras found dead in burned apartment

An elderly woman was found dead by firefighters who were called in to put out a blaze that started in her second-floor apartment in the city of Patras, western Greece, on Thursday morning.
The Fire Service was alerted by neighbors who saw smoke coming out of the woman’s flat.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze and the woman’s death.
