Authorities focusing on flood prevention in fire-stricken areas

Greek authorities are racing against time to shore up areas devastated by the summer’s wildfires in Athens, Evia and the Peloponnese so that the blazes are not followed by equally devastating floods and landslides in the fall and winter.

Also, plans are afoot to start fire prevention works well ahead of next summer.
