4.0 magnitude tremor recorded near Thiva
An earthquake with preliminary magnitude 4.0 struck near Thiva, central Greece, on Thursday morning, authorities said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake occurred at 8.48 a.m. local time, 4 kilometers east of Thiva and its epicenter was at a depth of 5 kilometers.
The tremor was also felt in Athens.
