Serres brothers arrested for hoarding ancient coins
A trove of ancient coins will be examined by competent authorities of the Culture Ministry after they were found in the possession of two brothers in the northern Greek city of Serres.
The two brothers were arrested on Friday after a police raid at their home yielded 91 bronze and silver ancient coins of the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras.
The items were confiscated under the provisions of the relevant law on antiquities.
