Fire on Mount Athos brought under partial control

A fire that broke out on Wednesday in the autonomous monastic polity of Mount Athos on Wednesday has been brought under partial control by the Fire Service.
The fire, that started in an olive grove near the Pantokratoras Monastery, was bolstered by strong winds but the intervention of Fire Service forces with two aircraft, seven vehicles, and 14 firefighters, has brought it under control.
