Man accused of abusing his grandchild appears before prosecutor

An 83-year-old man appeared before an Athens prosecutor on Monday on charges he repeatedly raped his granddaughter, who is now 17 years old, for years.

According to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, he was arrested on Friday after a complaint filed to police by the alleged victim and her mother.

According to what the girl told police, her grandfather had been raping her for years, but she was afraid to speak out.
