Ban on pilgrimages to Mount Athos extended to April 15
The deputy governor of the Mount Athos monastic community in northern Greece, Aristos Kasmiroglou, has extended a suspension of pilgrimages to the peninsula until April 15, the foreign ministry announced on Wednesday.
Additionally, anyone wishing to enter the all-male community must undergo precautionary checks at the ports of entry.
On Tuesday, health authorities confirmed 20 new infections in the community.
