Two temporary, prefabricated metal bridges…
Two temporary, prefabricated metal bridges, in place to carry traffic on Pireos Street over Athens’s flood-prone Kifissos River, opened yesterday. From today, work will start to demolish the original road bridge (l), which is to be replaced with a structure that will create less of an obstacle to floodwaters. The bridges carrying Athens electric railway trains over the river are also due to be replaced this month.
