Omonia Square to remain shut over the summer

The renovation works at central Omonia Square which began in January this year will keep it closed to the public until the end of summer, according to Athens municipal authorities. The delay in the completion of the works, which also includes the installation of street lighting, has drawn the ire of cafe, restaurant and hotel owners, who are complaining of increased levels of crime that has dealt a blow to business.
